Project Description
Stormy Eclipse – Front Range, Colorado
A partial solar eclipse sets a clearing thunderstorm aflame above the squared summit of Longs Peak. An unusual confluence of events, the solar eclipse near sunset added dramatic lighting to the stormy sky above Colorado’s rugged Front Range. The Front Range is a loose collection of smaller ranges that form the eastern barrier of the Colorado Rockies. The Front Range is anchored in the south by Pikes Peak and in the north by Longs Peak, both soaring over 14,000 feet in elevation. The range includes six wilderness areas and much of the 390 square mile Rocky Mountain National Park.
