Project Description
Point of Arches – Olympic National Park, Washington
Along the wild shores of the Olympic Peninsula, a silhouette of rugged sea stacks drifts on evening’s golden light. An archipelago of sea stacks, Point of Arches rises out of the Olympic Coast Marine Sanctuary, a haven for seabirds, including puffins, gulls and bald eagles. The 3,310 square mile sanctuary is also home to 29 species of marine mammals and a thriving community of invertebrates. On shore, a 73 mile sliver of coastline is protected within the boundaries of Olympic National Park, one of the few remaining wilderness coasts on the western US seaboard.
