A Little Background
Born in the dramatic mountains of Austria, Puska was drawn to landscape photography at an early age. That passion translated easily from the Alps to the rich and varied terrain of the Western US. A fateful college trip into the depths of the Grand Canyon, laden with camera gear, cemented wilderness photography as a lifetime pursuit. With an educational background in engineering and philosophy, Puska also quickly embraced both the technical and creative aspects of the medium. Like many photographers, he is a gear-head at heart.
During the past two decades, Puska has split his time between running a contracting business and promoting his landscape photography. He has been represented by numerous galleries and retailers around Colorado’s front range and created the original Nature Windows website in 2004. The project to build this new website began in late 2014 and represents an ever deepening commitment to the vocation and art of photography.
Puska’s photographic travels span three continents over the course of as many decades. Since starting a family, he has focused primarily on landscapes closer to his home in the Rocky Mountain region. The Desert Southwest and Pacific Northwest are also frequent haunts. He is joined on most of his travels by his wife, two young daughters, and dog, who all share a love of the outdoors. He and his family make their home in Colorado’s Front Range, where nature’s artistry abounds.
Day at the office.
