Project Description
Radiant Winter Night – Colorado
A radiant cabin perched high in the mountains of Colorado provides a warm refuge from a frosty winter night. The cabin, one of many scattered throughout Rocky Mountains, is accessible only on skis during the depths of winter. Often located near the edge of Wilderness Areas, these remote sanctuaries allow visits into rugged terrain that would otherwise be inaccessible in the colder months. The Wilderness Act of 1964 states that wilderness is “an area where the earth and its community of life are untrammeled by man, where man himself is a visitor who does not remain.” Colorado is home to more than 40 federally protected Wilderness Areas, totaling over 3.5 million acres.
