Project Description

Point of Arches Tide Pool – Olympic National Park, Washington

A thin crescent of wilderness coast is adorned with sea stacks, arches, and sparkling tide pools. Like a necklace of rugged, volcanic stone, Point of Arches rises out of the Olympic Coast Marine Sanctuary, a 3,310 square mile haven for seabirds, marine mammals, and sea stars. The 73 mile slice of coastline harbored within Olympic National Park is one of the few remaining wilderness coasts on the US western seaboard. The pristine beaches draw swarms of hikers and campers from nearby Seattle on summer weekends.
